This is a simple, yet very effective ballhandling drill. This drill is great because you don’t need a lot of space to perform it, and it doesn’t have to be done on a basketball court. This ballhandling drill can be performed:

  • On your driveway
  • In your garage
  • In your basement
  • In a hallway at school
  • Anywhere with a hard floor and minimal space

Items needed: Basketball and a tennis ball

As you can see in the video above, this is a drill where a lot of ballhandling variations can be added. Depending on their skill level, you can have your players perform several different skill moves while the tennis ball is in the air.

  • Crossover
  • Between the legs
  • Around the back
  • Double crossover
  • Double between the legs
  • Double behind the back
  • Crossover-between the legs combo

You can also vary the height at which the players should throw the basketball.

Be sure that your players are pounding the basketball with their fingertips and not their palms.
