Our website is for you, if you:
- Strive to positively influence players using the game of basketball
- Are in search of detailed explanations of plays, drills, workouts, tips, and more to help your tea
- Aim to become a better basketball coach
Coaching basketball is anything but simple. Unless you’ve done it, you don’t realize the time, preparation, and sacrifices that basketball coaches make. They are truly the first people at the gym, and they’re the last ones to leave. That doesn’t factor in practice plans, scouting, game film breakdown, and everything in between.
Our goal here at BBall Tools is to give you the tools to help run your team, both on and off the court.
Who are we?
My name is Coach A, and I manage this website. I was a three-year varsity letter-winner in basketball in high school. Upon graduation, I knew it was time to hang my shoes up and move on to the next chapter in my life. The natural progression seemed like it might be basketball coaching, but I wasn’t sure if teaching the game would be nearly as fun as playing it.
I quickly learned that teaching the game was a passion of mine. I couldn’t get enough of it. Throughout college, I volunteered to work every camp, coach every team, attend every coaching clinic, and soak up all of the knowledge that I possibly could.
After graduating from college, I started coaching at my high school alma mater, and I haven’t looked back the past five years. I’ve been a part of sectional, regional, and semi-state championships, and have had the luxury of coaching dozens of college basketball players.
Outside of coaching school ball, I coach for a well-respected AAU program, in which I get to come into contact with high-quality players and coaches frequently. My life literally revolves around growing and enhancing players’ lives through the game of basketball.
Why Start BBallTools.com?
As I mentioned, my main goals is growing the game in a positive manner. I’ve carved a nice niche in my community with my basketball knowledge and expertise, but I thought what better way to help grow the game than to help coaches globally! Thus, BBallTools.com was born.
Some of my personal philosophies as a coach that you’ll see echoed throughout this site are:
- Basketball is a game, it is supposed to be fun.
- Basketball is a microcosm of life. Lessons learned on the court can be applied in real life.
- Fundamentals are key in player development
- A coach can often be the most important person in a player’s development of life skills
Although this website will feature many of my personal philosophies, favorite plays, drills, and more, there will be other contributions from respected coaches across the globe!
